Introduction
Building interfaces – junctions between systems, materials, or components – are a primary source of risk in retrofit projects.
Transform-ER’s interoperability and standard detailing workstream has defined design rules for specific interfaces, from which standard design details have and can be generated from. An agreed set of standard interface details enables interoperability of manufacturers kits-of-parts at scale.
This work aims to establish rules and principles for achieving consistent, high-quality retrofits. Input has come from Transform-ER partners so far, with plans to expand as more stakeholders engage.
A gold, silver, bronze matrix for assessing standard construction details for interfaces incorporating archetype, data, testing, certification, insurance and risk.
