Transform-ER helps social landlords improve the way they upgrade homes – making the process simpler, faster and more streamlined for residents. This includes asking what matters most to you.

Home energy upgrades make homes more energy efficient, healthy and comfortable. You might have heard of these improvements referred to as ‘retrofit.’

Retrofit can have a bad reputation as being disruptive and stressful for residents. People have also told us that they feel like home energy upgrades have been done *to* them, not *with* them. Our mission is to change this.

What do home energy upgrades include?

Every home is different and the measures chosen for your home depend on, for example, what kind of walls you have, the kind of heating system you have and when your windows or doors were last upgraded.

Typically, home energy upgrades will include some or all of the following:

• Installing solar panels and battery storage to generate and store free electricity from the sun
• Improving air quality with new ventilation systems
• Adding insulation to your walls and roof for warmer winters and cooler summers
• Upgrading your heating system with a heat pump
• Updating windows and doors with higher-quality, more energy-efficient versions.
